Flitecell Nano Vs Sport Vs Explore

Which Battery Should I Buy for My Fliteboard?

Choosing the right battery for your Fliteboard is crucial for optimizing your eFoiling experience. There are three options to consider.

Fliteboard Flitecell eFoil Batteries:

Flitecell Nano: The smallest and lightest battery in the Fliteboard lineup, weighing only 13.7 lbs. Despite its compact size, it provides an average of 45 minutes of ride time. This battery is ideal for riders who prioritize maneuverability and prefer a lighter board. However, the shorter battery life may require more frequent recharging, which can be mitigated by using Fliteboard’s faster charging option or purchasing a second battery.

Flitecell Sport: offers a balance between weight and battery life. Weighing 23.4 lbs., it provides up to 1.5 hours of ride time. This makes it versatile, offering enough power for an enjoyable ride while still relatively lightweight. It’s an excellent option for those who want a good mix of performance and endurance without compromising too much.

Flitecell Explore: is the largest and most powerful battery option, weighing 32 lbs. and offering up to 2.5 hours of ride time. It’s perfect for long rides, exploring new areas, and ensuring you have enough power to get home even in challenging conditions. This battery is also ideal for sharing your eFoil with family or friends throughout the day, providing extended ride time for multiple users.

We’ve chosen to use Fliteboard for our eFoil school because they offer so many options for every aspect of their eFoil boards. One of those areas is battery selection.

Not only do we appreciate the options, but it is also nice to know that your equipment will hold up to high usage when running an eFoil school.

The Fliteboard Flitecell batteries all use titanium plates to secure and protect them, and this enclosure means that these batteries are highly resistant to corrosion. It also makes these batteries safer, another major benefit for any rider. If you are trying to decide what eFoil battery to choose for your Fliteboard, this guide will share everything you need to know about each battery model and how to decide which battery for each board in the Flite range.

flitecell nano

Should I Get the Flitecell Nano?

The Flitecell Nano is the smallest and least expensive battery in the Fliteboard lineup. Its small size has many benefits and a few drawbacks. A huge benefit is the weight reduction for transportation to and from the water. Smaller riders will have an easier time moving the eFoil and components down to the dock, lake, or beach. An additional benefit of a lighter board is less swing weight. The smaller, more performance eFoils like the Ultra L2 or Fliteboard Pro pair great with the Flitecell Nano for added performance and maneuverability on the water.

The Nano offers the shortest battery life of the battery options at 13.7 lbs. However, it still provides an average of 45 minutes of ride time. The Nano’s small form factor makes it the smallest in the Fliteboard lineup and the smallest and lightest lithium-ion eFoil battery in the world.

This allows you to enjoy maximum maneuverability while eFoiling. Many electric hydrofoil riders prefer riding with as light a board as possible. To counteract the Nano’s shorter battery life, use Flipboard’s faster charging option or purchase a second battery.

flitecell sport

Should I Get the Flitecell Sport?

The Flitecell Sport is the midsize option offered by Fliteboard. The Flitecell Sport tries to achieve the best of both worlds, straddling the line between lightweight and long battery life. You get the benefits of a lighter battery for transportation and performance on the water but a much longer ride time.

The Flitecell Sport offers up to 1.5 hours of ride time at a weight of 23.4 lbs. We find that amount of battery power to be a smart option. It allows you to go out and have a long enjoyable ride while knowing you have a little extra left in the tank to ensure you can get home.

flitecell explore

Should I Get the Flitecell Explore?

You probably already guessed it, but the Flitecell Explore is the largest, most powerful, and most expensive battery option. It can last up to 2.5 hours of riding and weighs 32 lbs. The Flitecell Explore is perfect if you want to take long rides down the coast or like to cruise around and explore while Efoiling. It reassures you that even if you choose to go for an extended joy ride along the Gulf Coast, you will still have enough juice in the tank to get home, even if you run into strong currents or bad weather. It is also an ideal option if you will share your eFoil with your family or a group of friends for the day.

We choose this battery for eFoil lessons and guided tours. Its long battery life is essential and convenient when we’re out on the water all day with students.

flite battery

What Battery Should I Buy with My Fliteboard?

Fliteboards are compatible with all three Flitecell options. The key is to determine what you prioritize. Do you want to reduce weight, have the maximum power for longer rides, or have the versatility to get the best of both worlds?

What battery should I buy with the Fliteboard PRO?

Fliteboard Pros are compatible with all three Flitecell options. The same logic applies to the PRO as to the Fliteboard; however, the Nano or Sport may be the best option if you purchase the PRO because of the increased maneuverability.

What battery should I buy with My Flite AIR or the FLITE AIR PRO?

Flite Air and Flite Air Pro are compatible with the Flitecell Nano and the Flitecell Sport.

With this board, either battery is a great choice. It again depends on whether you prefer a lighter weight or a longer battery life. Our preference for the Flite AIR & AIR Pro is the Flitecell Sport.

What battery should I buy with my Flitescooter?

The Flitescooter is compatible with the Sport or the Explore efoil batteries.

If you chose the Flitescooter because you wanted to enjoy the board with your entire family or a group of friends, then choosing the Flitecell Explorer is probably the best option.

What battery should I buy with the Ultra L2?

The Ultra L2 is compatible with the Sport or the Nano.

Either option would work great with your Ultra L2. You could look at it in two different ways. The significant weight reduction provided by the Ultra L2 could allow you to add the Sport while still being relatively light. However, if you want to keep the weight reduction benefits of the Ultra L2, you can enhance them even further by selecting the Nano.
