We are seeking an instructor who is passionate about teaching others the skills needed to ride and progress on an efoil board. The ideal candidate will be personable, outgoing, and have a love for meeting new people and a love of water sports. They will have experience teaching and working with people of all ages and skill levels. Prior board riding experience (eFoil, foil board, skateboard, snowboard, surfboard, wakeboard, one-wheel, or standup paddle boarding) is preferred. eFoil riding experience is not required to apply— we can provide un-paid eFoil board training to approved conditional applicants. We are looking for someone excited about learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and guide customers on the proper use of an eFoil board.
- Provide a safe and enjoyable learning experience for customers.
- Demonstrate techniques and maneuvers to customers.
- Work with customers to help them progress and improve their skills.
- Monitor customers and ensure their safety.
- Answer questions about eFoil equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of lessons, students, and equipment usage.
- Learn and remember participant names during each lesson session.
- Snap photos and capture video clips of riders during each session.
- Help with general tasks such as cleaning, delivery, set up and take down of equipment.
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive instructional sessions
- Assist with the creation of lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance curriculum and instructional practices.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in instruction.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older.
- Weigh less than 250 lbs (due to eFoil board weight restrictions).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A love for water sports and the ability to teach and work with people of all ages and skill levels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- FWC-approved boater safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must have 10 hours of eFoil riding experience. If you don’t have 10 hours of eFoil riding experience, you will be required to complete 10 hours of non-paid eFoil board training before employment. (we will provide 10 hours of eFoil lessons and training for free to approved conditional applicants)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching water sports, board sports, or other outdoor activities.
- 10 hours of experience operating a motorized vessel (boat or personal watercraft).
- Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of water safety and rescue techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to swim.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Pay and Benefits
This is a part-time position (15-30 hours per week) with a pay rate from $30 per hour (depending on experience), plus bonuses based on customer satisfaction and enrollment. (Instructors can make $30 to $55 per hour based on provided bonus opportunities.) We provide instructors with SPF-rated rash guard shirts, impact vests, and all other equipment necessary to perform job responsibilities.
